The wrong comparison is “AI versus the best lawyer”
The useful comparison is usually not AI versus top-tier specialized counsel. It is AI versus inconsistent review, rushed packet organization, templated praise letters, generic criterion logic, or expensive workflow that still leaves the client confused about what the packet actually proves.
Against that lower bar, AI can be surprisingly strong.
Where AI has a real edge
- Consistency: it can evaluate the packet against the same structure over and over.
- Pressure-testing: it can ask what proof is actually independent, what is redundant, and what is too vague.
- Organization: it helps turn scattered achievements into an exhibit map instead of a pile of attachments.
- Speed: it can rewrite, compare, red-team, and summarize much faster than many manual workflows.
Where AI does not help by itself
AI cannot invent real accomplishments. It cannot turn weak evidence into strong evidence. It cannot ethically provide legal representation just because the output sounds confident. The raw material still matters.

EB1A cases often fail not because the person has no achievement, but because the packet does a poor job showing:
- which criterion a fact actually supports,
- whether the validation is independent or self-serving,

Bottom line
If the problem is legal judgment at the highest level, specialist counsel still matters. If the problem is packet chaos, weak evidence mapping, and generic review, AI can absolutely outperform the average workflow people are paying for.
